Time for reading and learning…

December 10, 2012

Now what?  With all my mulching done and everything tidied up for its winter sleep I find myself with time on my hands.

I want to use this time wisely and get all the knowledge I can to prepare for next years growing and harvesting season.

I stumbled upon this very cool publishing company called Chelsea Green Publishing and went on a shopping spree!

I bought some amazing books on gardening like “Taste Memory” a book about forgotten foods, promoting biodiversity in our fields and markets.  Then one called ” The Resilient Gardener” another “The Woodland Year” and yet another called Preserving Food without Freezing or Canning”.

Then some more on transition called “Power from the People”  on how to organize, finance, and launch local energy projects,  “Honeycomb Kids” on big picture parenting for a changing world and lastly a childrens book called “The Big Tree at George and Charlotte’s House” for my grandson coming soon!

Time to start a fire and read, read, read.

  1. Awesome to stumble upon Chelsea Green publishing. Often times when I am browsing books and find one that really catches my eye, it is published by them. Good stuff.

You know the saying, make hay while the sun is shining. Now is the time to be learning and reading! Enjoy.

    Happy Monday to you.

    Cheers.
