One tree…

November 4, 2012

One tree can create its own eco system.

One tree can can feed the earth and plants that surround it.

One tree can feed us and animals that live nearby.

One tree can eat more than its fair share of carbon.

One tree can protect and shade the earth.

One tree can create a space for moisture to live.

One tree can repair the damage we have done to our earth.

Planting just one tree connects us to the ever growing movement toward the sacred.  Helps us to remember that we are part of, not separate from, the world that surrounds us.

Plant a tree and see for yourself how wonderful you feel.  Something about the act of placing a tree in the ground touches a place within and feels… well right.

Drop me a line and let me know how it makes you feel!

  1. Micki, I love your story about what one tree can do. In the past 44 years, I have planted all kinds — cherry, mulberry, pear, apple, spruce, cedar, black walnut, English oak, concolor firs, Austrian pine, white pine, red maple, junipers, black walnut, etc., etc. They even keep me busy raking up leaves and sweeping needles from the driveway. I have seen deer standing on their hind legs eating the cedars at the top of the hill, and I’m always keeping an eye on birds nesting. .

  2. Planting trees are a wonderful way for us to give back to our natural world one that we are profoundly connected to. I love your stories too!

  3. Very beautiful. It also reminds me of the hours of entertainment provided to me as a child by one tree. Climb up in a tree and you are in your own little world where no one can bother you. The things that can be provided to you by one tree are countless.

    • I believe planting trees can save the world and bring emmence joy. Thanks for the wonderful comment.
