brrrrr…

October 8, 2012

Woke up this morning to 38 degree temperature.  Now that is cold!  Didn’t let it stop me though.

I finished putting the main veggie garden to bed, which included some sheet mulching.  Sheet mulching is a no till way to get rid of weeds and help loosen the soil. I put some top soil mixed with compost on the beds then cardboard then some leaves, they are finally falling yay!  On top of it all a layer of straw.  By next spring no weeds and wonderful fertile soil.Image

Here are some strawberries I transplanted in the zone one veggie garden about a month ago.  They are nestled into the sheet mulching I did to get rid of the lawn in that area.  I plan on putting strawberries everywhere!  Some for me and some for the birds.
